Cheryl Roberts-Assistant Principal

Welcome, Jarrell Ranch Middle School Cougars!

My name is Cheryl Roberts, and I am honored to serve as your Assistant Principal. Born and raised right here in Texas, I have dedicated over 25 years to education as both a teacher and an administrator in Texas and Florida.

After graduating from Bay City High School, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Life/Earth Science from Sam Houston State University and went on to complete my master’s in Educational Leadership through Walden University. Throughout my career, I have taught at both the elementary and middle school levels, served as a K–12 campus administrator, and supported students and teachers in district administrative roles.

One of the highlights of my journey was being named Florida’s Teacher of the Year and one of four finalists for National Teacher of the Year. I am proud to say that I am the first and only graduate in Sam Houston State University history to ever reach that distinction. I have also been recognized by the Texas and Florida legislatures, the University of Florida, and my alma mater, SHSU, for my commitment to excellence in education.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family. My husband, Danny, is a retired Army Ranger and former police officer who now works alongside me serving the students of Jarrell ISD. I am a proud mom of two amazing young adults. My son, Matthew, served our country as a United States Marine and is now pursuing a career in robotics. My daughter, Brooke, is following her passion for athletics and dance as a cheer director in Lago Vista. I enjoy traveling, gardening, hunting, fishing, and making memories with family, friends, and all of our beloved pets.

I hold myself, our staff, and our students to the highest standards, and I firmly believe that building trust and community is at the heart of a thriving campus. I strive to lead with fairness, consistency, and a spirit of fun and positivity. One of my favorite reminders is, “Excellence is never an accident; it is the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution.” Each day, my goal is to empower our students to ask questions, dream big, and achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Together, we will make Jarrell Ranch Middle School the best in Texas! Let’s make it a fantastic year, Cougars!
